The amounts available range from £500 to £4,000,000.

Money is available for the following funding purposes: Buildings and Renovation, Business Growth, Business Innovation, Energy Efficiency, Purchasing Equipment, Recruit and Develop Staff and Starting a Business.

Money is available for the following business types: Academic, Large Business, Medium Business, Micro Business, Research Organisation, Small Business and Start-ups.

Top 10 Funding Opportunities:

Battery Innovation: Concept Development Rd 3

UK businesses can apply for funding to support innovation in battery grade material technologies for electrification.

Technical Area 2, Cybersecurity (October 2026)

This funding call will support Blue Teams to build production-grade, security-critical software components whose key security properties are backed by machine-checked proofs, under clearly stated threat models and assumptions – using AI as a central means of reaching levels of ambition for formal proof that would otherwise not be tractable.

Scaling Trust (October 2026)

This call is looking to fund projects across Track 2 – Tooling and Track 3 – Fundamental Research. Track 2 will fund open-source agents and reusable components – spanning requirement capture, negotiation, security reasoning, and verifiable reporting – that will provide the baseline infrastructure usable by all in the Arena and beyond. Track 3 will fund foundational work across Formal AI Security, Cyber-Physical Primitives, Foundations of Generative Security, and open-ended Bluesky research.

Innovations in Low-Cost and Simplified Pathogen Sequencing Workflows – Research and Development

This challenge is seeking ideas that substantially lower the cost and complexity of pathogen sequencing for at least one of the following priority pathogen or use cases: Viral genomes including Polio, Measles, Arboviruses, rotavirus, viral hemorrhagic fevers (VHFs), mpox, and other public health relevant viruses, Malaria, Tuberculosis and bacterial/microbial pathogens.
