3. Purchasing Equipment

Purchasing equipment funding covers the capital costs of acquiring machinery, tools or other items to run a business, such as purchasing long term assets, ICT equipment and upgrading older obsolete machinery with newer equipment. Here’s some examples of upcoming deadlines for March.

  • Growth Grant – Annual Turnover of up to £150,000 by East Renfrewshire Council: This scheme provides grants of up to £5,000 to small businesses in East Renfrewshire to help them purchase new equipment, IT hardware or cover tooling costs. The next application deadline is 31st March 2024.
  • Safer Shops West by West of England Combined Authority: This scheme offers grants of up to £2,000 to independent retail businesses in the West of England region to help them invest in security measures, such as CCTV, hand held radios and body worn cameras. The next application deadline is 31st March 2024.

4. Working Capital

Working capital funding covers day to day funding needs of a business to keep it running as a going concern, including purchasing sufficient inventory, bridging delayed payments and covering unexpected expenses. Here’s some examples of upcoming deadlines for March.

  • Vibrant Town Centres by Mid Devon District Council: This scheme provides grants of up to £5,000 to provide working capital for businesses in Mid Devon town centres to address challenges to help them to keep running as a going concern and improve their viability. The next application deadline is 31st March 2024.
  • Transitional Labelling Financial Assistance Scheme by Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs: This scheme provides financial assistance from a funding pot of £50 million to small and medium-sized food and drink businesses in the UK to help them comply with new food labelling requirements under the Windsor Framework. The application deadline for this scheme is 31st March 2024.
