Introduction
According to recent research from Lloyds Bank, 70% of UK surveyed businesses expect their turnover to increase in 2025, up from 62% when questioned in the same confidence survey 12 months ago. 73% of businesses are also expecting to see increased profitability levels as they feel more optimistic about their growth prospects.
Businesses are also able to seek financial support to make their growth plans a reality and grants are available in particular for SMEs from local authorities, universities and business enterprise support agencies. Eligible business growth expenditure includes marketing, strategic growth planning, software and website development, new product and service launches and expanding into new market areas.
Here Is A Selection Of The Latest UK Business Growth Grant Schemes
i) Create – Small Create
The Art Council of Wales has a scheme providing funding for individual artists and organisations (including festival organisers) to support the development and creation of high-quality arts experiences that help them engage with and connect to the public and help expand their growth. Funding up to £10,000 is available.

ii) Keighley and Shipley Towns Fund
Invest in Bradford is providing funding to businesses to support investment projects that create new businesses, improve productivity and expand or diversify existing businesses leading to sustainable growth and job creation in the Keighley and Shipley area. Funding up to £315,000 is available.

iii) Business Growth Fund
Gateshead Council is providing a scheme with capital funding to businesses looking to expand or establish new operations. Projects must contribute to outcomes including the creation and safeguarding of jobs, improved productivity, adoption of new to firm processes and technologies and an increased amount of capital investment. Funding up to £300,000 is available.

iv) Carbon13 Venture Launchpad
Barclays Eagle Labs is providing an accelerator programme that aims to support early-stage founding teams to work intensively on their carbon impact, investment readiness and go-to-market strategy. Participants will also have an opportunity to pitch for £200,000 in pre-seed funding. Funding up to £200,000 is available.

v) Transforming Newhaven Investment Fund
Newhaven Enterprise Zone is providing funding for businesses based in the area to invest in transformational growth projects. A small proportion of the fund is also available to fund feasibility and technical work to structure and develop transformational projects. Funding up to £100,000 is available.

vi) Accelerated Business Growth Grant Scheme
Newport City Council is providing a scheme that aims to support capital investment activities that will either allow well-established, new to the region businesses to set up premises in the City of Newport or allow an existing Newport-based business to accelerate their growth ambitions with a significant contribution towards investment. Funding up to £75,000 is available.

vii) Made Smarter Adoption Programme – Yorkshire and the Humber
Made Smarter is providing a scheme that aims to drive growth in manufacturing and engineering SMEs in the Yorkshire and Humber regions and help them boost productivity by helping them switch to advanced and automated technologies as well as improving employees’ overall digital skills. Funding up to £20,000 is available.

viii) West Northamptonshire Business Growth and Innovation Support
The University of Bedfordshire is providing fully funded support, including 1-2-1 consultancy, academic-led student projects, Subsidised graduate employment, peer to peer networking, workshops and short courses, to help businesses empower innovation and accelerate growth. Businesses can also access capital and revenue grants. Funding up to £20,000 is available.
