This blog provides details of some of the latest UK business grant schemes, covering topics such as energy efficiency, business growth, purchasing equipment and business innovation. Businesses of all sizes can apply for grants that provide a financial boost to help achieve project success.
1) Energy Efficiency
There are 450 energy efficiency schemes available
Energy efficiency funding covers the cost of equipment and measures to help businesses reduce their overall energy usage and carbon footprint, including electric vehicles, efficient lighting, insulation, renewable energy, boiler equipment and water saving measures. Here’s some examples of what’s new this week.
i) Flintshire Carbon Reduction Fund by Antur Cymru: This grant assists businesses in Flintshire in North Wales that want to reduce their carbon emissions. It provides funding for energy audits, carbon efficient upgrades and renewable technology investments. Maximum funding is £5,000.
ii) Green Business Support Programme by East Dunbartonshire Council: Businesses in the local region can access support to implement energy-saving measures, potentially lowering their operational costs, including carbon reduction equipment and energy efficiency upgrades. Maximum funding is £10,000.
2) Business Growth
There are 322 business growth schemes available
Business growth funding covers the cost of business development activities such as launching new products or services, marketing costs and growth planning. Here’s some examples of what’s new this week.
i) Prosperous Denbighshire – Larger Projects by Denbighshire County Council: Businesses in Denbighshire in North Wales with expansion plans focused on job creation, skills development, and regional economic growth are eligible for this grant to cover larger-scale projects. Maximum funding is £50,000.
3) Purchasing Equipment
There are 693 purchasing equipment schemes available
Purchasing equipment funding covers the capital costs of acquiring machinery, tools or other items to run a business, such as purchasing long term assets, ICT equipment and upgrading older obsolete machinery with newer equipment. Here’s some examples of what’s new this week.
i) Tourism Attraction Capital Grant by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council: This scheme is designed to help tourism businesses in the local area enhance the visitor experience through equipment investment and upgrades. Maximum funding is £20,000.
ii) Accessible Information Grant by Department for Transport: This grant supports public bus transport providers across the UK to improve travel information accessibility for passengers with disabilities to comply with new regulations.
iii) Rural Tourism Grant Scheme by Herefordshire Council: Tourism enterprises in rural Herefordshire can apply for funding to purchase equipment, boosting efficiency and visitor appeal. Maximum funding is £24,999.
4) Business Innovation
There are 821 business innovation schemes available
Business innovation funding covers research and development project activities across various science, industry and creative sectors. Here’s some examples of what’s new this week.
i) Automotive Transformation Fund Feasibility Studies: Round 5 by Innovate UK: Manufacturers in the UK automotive industry and their supply chains can apply for funding to conduct feasibility studies on cutting-edge technologies. Maximum funding is £350,000.
ii) International Green Corridors Fund: UK – IE Feasibility Studies by Innovate UK: Grants are available to support research into the feasibility of zero-emission shipping routes connecting the UK and Ireland. Maximum funding is £175,000.
