Which regions are getting the most or least funding?

London, the South East and East of England were the top three funded regions in 2021 with 572, 509 and 314 projects respectively. London and the South East were also the top two regions in 2020, 2019 and 2018 whereas the East of England was fourth in 2020 and third in 2019 and 2018.

Which cities or towns are getting the most or least funding?

Glasgow, Birmingham and Westminster were the top three funded cities with 266 projects, making up 8% of total UK projects in 2021. There were 50 cities or town where only one project was funded and these included places such as Babergh, Oldham and Slough.

Looking at the cities within regions, funding is highly concentrated in the major cities of each region. For example, the two cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh accounted for 47% of projects in Scotland with the remaining 26 cities and towns making up the rest.
